What it does
Sales Navigator shows lists of leads but hides their public linkedin.com/in/ URLs — the links your CRM and outreach tools need. The Resolver bridges that gap: it captures the leads on a people-search page, resolves each to its public profile URL with a confidence score, and lets you export the lot as an Excel file.
The same resolver is available as a Chrome/Firefox extension, a Google Sheets add-on, an Excel add-in, batch CSV/Excel upload, and the single-URL resolver in your dashboard. This guide covers the browser extension.
Before you start
- Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (desktop)
- An active LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscription
- A NameToProfile account with available credits and an API key (dashboard → API key)
Setup
- 1Install — Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons and confirm the permissions.
- 2Connect your API key — Open the popup, paste the API key from your dashboard, and Save (use Test Connection to confirm). Your credit balance appears in the popup.
Resolve a search
- 1Open a people search — Go to a Sales Navigator people-search results page — the address starts with /sales/search/people. The extension only works there.
- 2Start Capturing — Open the popup and click Start Capturing. You'll see a “NTP: Capturing” pill on the page.
- 3Scroll your results — Scroll so the lead cards load — the extension captures the visible leads. Duplicates are detected and skipped automatically.
- 4Resolution auto-starts at 25 — Once 25 leads are queued, resolution runs automatically and continues in the background even if you close the popup.
- 5Download Excel — When leads are resolved, download the spreadsheet; click Stop when you're done.
Credits
1 credit per resolved lead, on every surface. Capturing and scrolling are free; duplicates are skipped and not charged.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Start Capturing” is greyed out | You're not on a supported page. Open a /sales/search/people results page and reopen the popup. |
| Scrolling but nothing captures | Make sure capture is on (popup says “Capturing leads…”, page shows the “NTP: Capturing” pill). Give the page a moment to finish loading. |
| Nothing is resolving | Resolution only starts after 25 leads are queued — the popup tells you how many more are needed. Keep scrolling. |
| “Invalid API key” | Recopy the key from your dashboard and Save (or use Test Connection in Settings). |
| “Out of credits” | Top up in your dashboard, then click Retry — pending leads are preserved. |
| Status shows “Error” (network) | A temporary hiccup. Click Retry; nothing is lost. |
| Download Excel is greyed out | You need at least one resolved lead — capture 25+ and let processing finish. |
| (Firefox) permission to connect missing | Approve the prompt for api.nametoprofile.com, then save/test your key again. |
