AI Sales Assistant — Support
1. What it is
NameToProfile AI Sales Assistant (the "AI Sales Assistant") is a Chrome side-panel extension. While you're on a professional profile or company page, it can:
- Score the person (prospect) or company (account) against your ICP brief — a quick Fast score or a thorough Deep score.
- Draft outreach — connection notes, direct messages, emails and in-platform messages for people; a personalized email for a company.
- Generate content — a Social Post from a concept, or an Inspired Post modeled on a reference you paste.
- Keep a private history — every score, message and post is saved locally and can be reviewed, edited, exported (CSV / JSON) or deleted.
Everything is grounded in an ICP brief you create once. Every output is text you review and copy — the extension never sends, posts or connects on your behalf.
2. Install
Install it from the browser extension store listing, then pin the NameToProfile icon to your toolbar. Requires Google Chrome 116 or newer. Clicking the toolbar icon opens the side panel on the right — there is no popup.
3. First-time setup
a. Sign in with your API key
Open the panel and go to Settings. Paste your NameToProfile API key and click Sign in. Your key is stored locally in this browser only, and your credit balance appears once you're connected. You can create or rotate the key in your dashboard.
b. Create your ICP brief
You need at least one approved brief before scoring. In Settings, click Create a brief — a two-step wizard:
- Your product — website URL, product name, value proposition and the problem you solve.
- Your voice — paste your profile details so outreach and posts sound like you (optional but recommended).
Click Create brief (this uses credits). The brief is built in ~15–30 seconds, then shown in a review/edit form. Save it and it becomes your active brief. You can hold up to 3 briefs and switch the active one anytime.
4. The side panel
Five tabs across the top, with your credit balance always visible:
- Score — score the current page (prospect or account).
- Outreach — draft messages from a score.
- Content — generate social / inspired posts.
- History — review saved profiles, messages and posts.
- Settings — account, briefs, preferences and wallet.
5. Scoring a page
Open the profile or company page in your tab, then the panel's Score tab.
- Pick the subject — the Prospect Score tab (a person) or Account Score tab (a company). Each keeps its own result.
- Choose depth — Fast (quick, cheap) or Deep (thorough, with a richer rationale; costs more and asks you to confirm).
- Read the result — a score, a verdict, the key reasons, and (for Deep) a rationale and recommended action.
Helpful cues
- A traffic light next to the tabs shows whether the current page can be scored (green), isn't a supported page (red), or is unknown yet (yellow).
- Make sure the page has finished loading before scoring so all details are captured.
- Can't read the page? If a site blocks reading, the extension offers a box to paste the page text manually.
- Wrong classification? Use Flag to report a mislabeled page.
- Scores are cached permanently. A page you already scored keeps its result, so revisiting it is free; the cache is replaced only when you click Re-score, which forces a fresh result and charges again.
6. Drafting outreach
After scoring, open Outreach.
- Prospect (a person) — pick a channel (connection note, direct message, email, or in-platform message), choose 1–3 variants, optionally tick Generic, and click Generate. Edit inline, Copy, or use the adjustment chips (Shorter / Warmer / More direct / More specific) to regenerate.
- Account (a company) — a personalized email to a specific person. Fill in the recipient (at least one of Name, Title, or profile URL); Generate stays disabled until you add one.
Every generated message is saved to History. Nothing is sent for you — you copy and send it yourself.
7. Generating content
- Social Post — type a concept and generate a post in your brief's voice (hook, body, hashtags, image prompt).
- Inspired Post — paste a reference post you admire; get an original post modeled on its structure, in your voice.
Both are capped at 2000 characters and saved to History → Posts. You can paste with the paste button, use the "fill from selection" toggle, or right-click selected text → Send to NameToProfile.
8. History
Everything you do on this device is saved locally under two tabs:
- Profiles — every page you scored, with profile details, score history (reasons, and for Deep the rationale and recommended action), your drafted messages, notes and a status you can set. Download any profile as CSV or JSON.
- Posts — every Social and Inspired post, editable and deletable.
Bulk CSV / JSON export and Clear all live on the list header. History lives only in this browser — it is never uploaded to a server.
9. Credits
Costs are shown on each button before you act. Typical costs (live costs always take precedence):
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Fast score | 2 |
| Deep score | 25 |
| Revisiting a page you already scored | 0 (cached permanently) |
| Draft message | 9 (1 variant) / 13 (2) / 17 (3) |
| Regenerate message | 3 per variant |
| Social post | 10 |
| Inspired post | 10 |
| Create / regenerate a brief | 80 |
Buy or manage credits from Settings → Pricing, or on the pricing page.
10. Settings
- API key — update your key or Sign out.
- ICP briefs — up to 3; pick the active one, create, edit, regenerate or delete.
- Preferences — theme (System / Light / Dark) and "skip the Deep-score confirmation".
- Danger zone → Reset extension — permanently deletes all local data (history, briefs, settings and your API key).
Sign out keeps your local history for that account; signing in as a different account clears the previous account's history so accounts never mix.
11. Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Score a prospect first" in Outreach | You haven't scored the current page yet, or the score is on the other subject tab. Run a score, then return. |
| "Score not found" when drafting | The score for that draft isn't available (for example, from a previous session). Re-score the page and draft again. |
| Nothing captured / empty score | The page may still be loading, or the site blocks reading. Wait for full load, or use the "paste the page text" box. |
| Brief limit reached | You have 3 briefs. Delete one in Settings to create another. |
| Costs look wrong or missing | Reopen the panel to refresh live pricing. |
| Wrong page type scored | Use Flag on the Score tab to report it. |
| "Invalid API key" | Recopy the key from your dashboard and sign in again. |
| Out of credits | Top up in your dashboard, then reopen the panel. |
